For the third year year running, the ShelterBox WA Team were rostered on to help at the Perth Royal Show in the Scouts WA Challenge area. Scouts and general members of  the public, 5 – 15 years of age, participated in activities such as bouldering, knot tying, walking the single post bridge , laser gun fun, volcano game, bouncy challenge (about 20 m long), small climbing and then abseiling experience, etc.

In previous years the Scouts raised funds to sponsor boxes that were sent to Haiti following the devastating earthquake of 2010. This year the team raised enough funds to sponsor a further 2 boxes, a fantastic effort. The activity area offered members of the public an opportunity to learn about both Scouts and ShelterBox, a partnership that is growing around the world.

ShelterBox WA Coordinator, David Brockway and his team are already working with Scouts Event manager, David Karcheski to plan next year’s display. There’s nothing like being prepared!
