The Royal Holloway, University Of London, played host to the 2013 ShelterBox international affiliates conference last weekend.
With delegates composed of volunteers, staff and Trustees from fifteen different countries the event was designed to bring together ShelterBox affiliates to share personal experiences, good practice and knowledge. With a keynote speech from famed rugby player and management coach, Mark Soden of Mission Performance, the conference encouraged collaboration to help shape the direction of the organisation’s future. The conference comes at an exciting time for the ShelterBox affiliate network, as final preparations are afoot for a series of events across the globe this summer including the ShelterBox Challenge in Amsterdam, Big ShelterBox Week and the London Scavenger Hunt.

Tribute to the organisation
ShelterBox has affiliates in Europe, North America, Africa, Australasia and Asia that all share the mission of helping families affected by disaster. They are an integral part of the ShelterBox family.
As well as serving as some of the most important fundraisers ShelterBox affiliates provide invaluable support across a range of different areas. Affiliates have provided essential support during deployments in their countries. This has included everything from from assisting with clearing aid through customs to arranging accommodation for our Response Teams.
The ShelterBox international affiliates network reflects the desire of people around the world to help families made homeless by disaster and the passion and support provided by affiliates is a fantastic tribute to the organisation.
